FAQs
What can I use?
Any bits from any miniature company in any configuration; things you sculpted by hand or created digitally. However you create minis is how you should submit your creations.
What are these prizes you mention?
We’ll have unique trophies for first, second, and third place as well as some other fun things for all folks, that will be announced as we go along. Still figuring the novices section out, but you won’t be disappointed!
Can I submit more than one entry?
Go ham. I may stop you eventually, but let’s leave it open for now
When’s it due?
April 26, 2024.
How will this be judged?
By a small selection of judges, focusing on creativity, artistic flair, composition, and adherence to the theme.
There’s a theme this year?
Kinda! It’s “Battle Royale”. The theme applies to every category. It’s one of the ways we’ll be judging submissions for final prizes, but when there aren’t any rules, it’s hard to delineate. We’ll know it when we see it (and so would other people)
How do in encorporate a theme into my work?
Check out this sweet intro by the Art Institute of Chicago. If that doesn’t quite do it, ask your friends! They’ll have great ideas around exploring the theme
I’ve never done a competition before, should I really enter?
Absolutely! It’s going to be a blast.
Does it have to be painted?
It does not. The most important thing is that you present your creation in the best light. The working assumption is that a majority will be painted, but it is not a requirement.
I get it’s all free to enter, participate, and win -but how could I support to keep this running?
Feel free to pick something up from the shop (we have custom minis every year!) or get something unique made by @totally_not _panicking . Drop him a message on instagram or an email (below).
